FLEA MARKET FIND!!! MINT DUAL 1249 w/ EMPIRE LTD 200

Hey guys, I recently found a beautifully mint Dual 1249 turntable for $20 at a local flea market. What really attracted me was the look of the turntable and the Empire LTD 200 cartridge which look pretty fancy, at first I thought it was a Dynavector cart but upon closer inspection the cart read quot;LTD Empire 200quot;. Anybody familiar with this cartridge or what this turntable/cart combo might be worth?

Pics!

Congrats on your score!

Had an LTD 200 and mounted it on a Pioneer PL-7 I fixed up for a friend.  Not a bad cart but not among Empire's best.  Replacement styli avail at LPGear and other sources as well.  Great score on the Dual!

Ummm isn't that a Damp;S question??

Just sayin...

Welcome to AK but you should read the sticky at the top of the forums to be sure your question is appropriate for the forum you are in. Hang out a while and do some reading and get to know us a bit before going straight to the quot; How much $..quot; questions. It's all good, but if you want some serious answers, that's my advice.

Again welcome

Cheers,

Bob

Can't tell you the price, but that combination should easily be worth at least the $20 you paid, IMO.

The most sought after Duals are the idler-wheel models with somewhat heavier platters, like the 1219 and 1229.  They can go for over a hundred dollars, and twice that for a nicely restored or near-mint NOS one.  Yours is a belt drive model, not quite as good sonically as those.   Stats are here:  tables/1249.htm

Question of value. Moved to Damp;S.

1229Q = Best (amp; can be expensive, but worth it)
